Exaprotect Extends Network Configuration Change Management Leadership with New Solsoft ChangeManager Release
Solsoft ChangeManager Now Enables Centrally-Generated Security Configurations Across More Network Devices Than ANY Other Solution
Expanded Support for Fortinet, Juniper and Check Point Network Devices Eases Management Burden and Minimizes Risks of Network Outages and Security Breaches
Mountain View, CA—July 21, 2008—Exaprotect, a leader in security management innovation, today announced the latest version of Solsoft ChangeManager, the company’s industry-leading network configuration change management (NCCM) solution. ChangeManager now supports Fortinet Fortigate 3.0, Juniper JunOS 9.0, Netscreen 6.x and Provider-1 R65, in addition to Cisco and Check Point, and offers enhanced import and migration capabilities between supported devices. With these additions, ChangeManager now supports more network devices than any other NCCM solution in the market. It is also the only NCCM solution that provides a central, high-level interface to design, generate, optimize, insert and track frequently-issued change requests across complex, heterogeneous networks.
Today’s enterprise IT environments are comprised of hundreds of network devices from several different security vendors, often a legacy of mergers, acquisitions and unilateral technology purchasing decisions. Frequent security threats and changes in company policy require network-wide reconfiguration of these devices. When changes are applied manually or through each vendor’s different management console, security and network teams lose visibility and lack a central repository to view and search their security rules. This process is tedious, time-consuming and prone to errors which can cause network downtime and does not scale in large enterprises or managed security service providers. For a large enterprise with hundreds of disparate devices, a network-wide configuration could take several network engineers days or even weeks to implement - leaving the organization vulnerable to security threats.
ChangeManager allows network managers to quickly, easily and accurately implement network-wide configurations while providing security managers visibility into the changes made. ChangeManager translates high-level business policies into multi-vendor, device-specific commands, allowing enterprises to track and implement security change requests across large global networks and multiple security levels using simple business rules and an abstraction layer-based drag-and-drop interface. By enabling enterprises to manage multi-vendor configuration policies centrally, ChangeManager facilitates the implementation of long-term change management strategies, simplifies the migration from older legacy devices to newer, better-performing and less costly devices and allows for a simple update to current internal security standards and compliance requirements.
“The fast pace of business today and rapid technology evolution has increased the frequency and quantity of updates to network infrastructures. Maintaining network device configurations to follow regulatory standards and fix security breaches has become a complex task,” said Jean-François, CEO, Exaprotect. “Furthermore, budget constraints often limit expansion of the network engineering teams, restricting their effectiveness. By supporting these additional devices, ChangeManager further solidifies its leadership position in enabling network managers to centrally manage their configuration changes regardless of network device vendor or legacy system.”
ChangeManager is also unique in that it integrates with Exaprotect’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) products, LogManager and EventManager, on the Exaprotect Unified Architecture. This integration enables ChangeManager to receive security incident information from EventManager and push out a pre-determined, pre-tested intelligent remediation plan that aligns with the network security policy. This unified approach provides enterprises the ability to quickly assess and address policy and security weaknesses and empowers security, network and IT operations teams to work in concordance to perform a list of mutually agreed upon procedures for security breach response, incident remediation, and secure environment restoration. With the Unified Architecture, organizations can quickly eliminate security vulnerabilities and meet regulatory standards while lowering operational costs and assuring network performance and SLAs.
