Previews new appliance running Exaprotect’s Security Management Solution and Network Security Policy Solution: enables unique ‘View and Do’ holistic security management on single appliance

Exaprotect says that the appliance’s ‘View and Do’ capability of monitoring security events, and enabling staff to make policy and network changes to react to and remediate those events, is unique in the market. This single- appliance solution will simplify customers’ overall security management, enhances threat response and maximises return on security investments.

Leading analysts agree that customers will demand security information & event management (SIEM) solutions that integrate policy management and remediation. Eric Domage, European Security Expert at IDC said: “As enterprises handle event monitoring and logging on a single security dashboard for management and compliance, they will also want to add active controls for real-time remediation and risk mitigation."

The appliance’s development results from Exaprotect’s October 2006 merger with Solsoft, and is a key step towards delivery of a single security dashboard that integrates SIEM, policy change management and real-time remediation. Full availability of the Exaprotect appliance running both SMS and NSPS will be announced later in Q2 2007.

Exaprotect is a Juniper Networks J-Partner

Exaprotect has also joined the Juniper Networks J-Partner Solutions Alliance Program. This enables interoperability between Juniper Networks’ security solutions and Exaprotect’s security event and policy change management solutions, to help customers effectively assess, manage and mitigate the exposure to risks for their company and secure their network investments. Exaprotect’s SMS and NSPS products combined with Juniper Networks’ firewall/VPN, Unified Access Control and Intrusion Detection and Prevention solutions, offers customers scalable and comprehensive security monitoring for complex, diverse IT infrastructures.

Exaprotect’s SMS and NSPS solutions

Exaprotect’s SMS gives in-depth forensic analysis capabilities on security event and system logs with a new ‘replay’ mode. This gives IT staff a deeper insight when investigating security events, performing historic log analysis, or when assessing the effects of changes to security policies and rule sets. The replay wizard allows users to choose start- and end-times from which to replay event logs, and can also import and correlate new data or log sources to supplement those stored in SMS. This includes information that was not originally logged and stored by SMS as part of normal event management. The company’s Network Security Policy Solution (NSPS) gives multi-vendor security configuration and policy management. It enables senior IT staff to design, implement and track security policies and change management on all network devices from a single interface.
